The Hamstring is probably the most injured muscle in competitive sports because it is such an important muscle in leg propulsion. People often take it for granted and give it little consideration in post-exercise recovery. Regularly spending time on flexibility and trigger exercises to reduce tone (tightness), and having progressive loading and strengthening exercising in your training program, is particularly important in preventing hamstring strains.
